When one of our customers mentioned that he created a new cocktail inspired by a mariachi dancer in Mexico, we knew we had to try it. Our Don Amado Mezcal was the perfect boozy match for his blood orange-based recipe; proving that winter shouldn’t limit you to red wine and warming whiskey. Here’s the recipe so you can have your own Mexican vacation without leaving your kitchen.
Recipe courtesy of David Hafetz, inspired by a mariachi singer in Veracruz.
- 2 parts Don Amado Mezcal Reposado ($53)
- 2 parts fresh blood orange juice
- 1 part fresh lime juice
- ½ part Marie Brizard Triple Sec ($20)
- Squirt of agave nectar
- Dash of cayenne pepper (to taste)
- 4 ice cubes
Combine all the ingredients in a shaker. Shake, pour into a glass and be transported to a tropical locale.
