We’re kicking off a new Brooklyn Events blog series to feature all the great venues, caterers and event planners that our borough has to offer! Whether you’re looking for the perfect place to get married or a killer personal chef for your next dinner party, these are a few of our favorite places and people.
First up in our series is Brooklyn Grange, a 65,000 square foot rooftop farm in the Navy Yard that has sweeping views of the city from its 2,000 square foot roof deck. This deck can host almost anything, from workshops to bridal or baby showers, weddings to birthday dinner parties.
Why do we love the Grange? Besides the obvious farm-in-the-middle-of-Brooklyn factor, they serve up dishes sourced from their farm and prepared by top NYC chefs. The views are incredible and your guests won’t soon forget their night among the herbs and vegetables.
Pro tip: They only host events from late May through mid October, so book your event at least a couple months in advance if you have a specific date in mind. The Grange offers a list of curated vendors, all of whom are familiar with their unique facilities and are able to offer delicious food and excellent service on the farm. Their menus incorporate local, sustainably raised products, including some of the crops grown on the roof. You can also bring in your own vendors for a fee.
