Hearty and dense with a penchant for grilled steak.
The wine is dense, inky, and purple, with a rustic, hearty juiciness, ripe acidity, and warm tannins, perfect for any meal and barbeques.
“Altos Las Hormigas” means “ants heights” in Spanish because when this producer first began planting their vines, the local ant colonies wouldn’t stop eating them. They refused to poison the ants, since they were in the area first, so instead named their winery after the hard-working insects as a good luck charm.
