Bodega Garzón, Tannat $17

Beef Cheese Pork

Smooth blackberries infused with smoke and soft tannins.

Plum, blackberry, and a hint of peppercorn on the nose. Yes, we’ve got tannins—but they are ripe and pillowy. The wine is both smooth and structured, with some smokiness and ripe black fruit.Braised meats beckon, preferably with a 5-spice soy marinade. Tannat is to Uruguay what Malbec is to Argentina. Both originated in France, but found their spiritual homes in South America.
