Fresh red berries punctuated by bitter herbs and orange garnish.
Beautiful, light violet color. Fresh raspberries leap out of the glass, long with raspberry leaf, cocoa, and a hint of stewed red fruit. The palate is so, so fresh—raspberry, cherry, strawberry, a distinctive saltiness (indicative of the region) keeps you sipping, and just the right amount of bitter herbs and orange peel punctuates. Just lovely, ethereal and quaffable.
Here we have carbonic Pinot—whole clusters fermented without oxygen. The grapes literally ferment from the inside out and burst. It’s a style used often in Beaujolais, and promotes fresh, fruit driven quaffers.
