Even though alcohol-free wines (and spirits) are a popular thing these days, their availability in the city is quite a complicated situation. Laws related to the sale of alcohol vary from state to state, and here in New York they happen to be very particular.
As a licensed vendor of wine and spirits, state law dictates what products we are permitted to sell. Funnily enough, non-alcoholic wines don’t make the list, since they are technically categorized as “food products.”
It’s confusing, we know. But that’s how it is.
Until then, the best we can do is sort of meet in the middle. Consider this to be a “Damp January” for us. We’ll be highlighting lower ABV bottles throughout the month. Until then, stay tuned!
(If the laws surrounding store sales ever change, you’ll be the first to know)
