Dear Neighbors:
We are grateful for your patronage and to serve you as an “essential business.” The store is stocked and will be as long as we can receive inventory from our distributors.
We’ve also made other changes while NYC is “on pause” and for as long as we are allowed to remain open:
Store Hours
We have shortened our walk-in hours as follows:
M-Sun 3-7pm
Deliveries will be made during store hours every day. Orders must be received within half an hour of closing to guarantee delivery. If you miss the cut off, we’ll put you first in line the next day.
Online ordering, pick up and delivery
Feel free to order ahead, via phone at (347) 599-1672 or online, and pick up if you want to get out of the house but minimize contact. Delivery is also available and is free within the 11205 zip code. We do have to check ID to prevent underage drinking and fraud. To minimize contact, you can email the ID to the store and as long as it matches the delivery name and address, we’re all set.
Note: Please order through shoptipsy.com instead of any third-party platform. The fees that intermediaries charge are substantial and we just can’t afford them as more people order online.
Safety
We started increasing sanitation in early March. As the state and CDC have released additional guidance, we’ve added more protections. This is a full list to date:
The number of customers in the store is limited at any time to 5. Please line up with the appropriate distance while you wait to enter. We’ve taped markings six feet apart as a guide.
While you are in the store, we ask that you touch only what you intend to take.
Please let us handle the fridge.
We’ve set up a socially distanced payment station to give space between the sales associate and customers. We’ll ring you up and then you can run your card and pack your bottles at that counter. We can still chit chat while this is happening. We continually wipe down the card reader counter.
We have increased the frequency of sanitizing and disinfecting common surfaces throughout each shift.
We increased the number of “whole store cleanings” each week.
We are providing gloves to customers who would like to use them.
As of April 3, all sales associates are required to wear gloves and masks.
We’d like to minimize cash payments to the furthest extent possible. We’ll still accept cash as a matter of equity but if you can use a card, we appreciate it.
We continue to monitor information and guidelines from the Center for Disease Control, the New York City Department of Health, and the New York State Department of Health, and will add additional safeguards as needed.
How can you help our community?
The Myrtle Avenue BID is maintaining a list of businesses that are still open. Please support them, whether it’s ordering take-out or delivery, or buying gift cards for yourself or for the health care or emergency workers in our neighborhood.
The BID also maintains a list of resources, including a growing list of opportunities to donate or volunteer.
The BID has set up a relief fund, to which you can donate to help folx in our neighborhood.
If anything changes, we will email again and update our social accounts.
With love, gratitude and so much hope,
Amanda Neville, Owner
