Brianne Day burst into the world of wine through sheer passion and persistence. With no family connections she took it upon herself to travel and discover wine making techniques around the world. After 20 months straight of traveling from New Zealand to Australia to Europe and gravitating towards the natural wine movement in 2007 Brianne started wine classes in 2008 and continued her education by doing two harvests a year, one in Oregon and another somewhere else (Argentina, France, etc.).
After many internships and learning different positions within the wine industry to gain perspective Brianne created Day Camp and built a winemaking cooperative with multiple brands in order to foster a community of shared resources.
“I approach my wines from a classic standpoint, like making a classic Oregon Chardonnay or Oregon Pinot Noir. Then I have a bunch of other wines that I approach from a creative mindset. They’re a creative expression for me. I painted a lot as a teenager, and when I make those wines, it feels similar to how it felt when I used to paint. It’s an outpouring of creativity.”
