Field Recordings Skins

Post image

Andrew Jones came into the wine world as vineyard nursery manager. He grows and works with trusted growers with a mix of sustainable and organic practices, some of which are dry farmed fruits. The wine spends 45 days with the skins on in stainless steel barrels and then some time in Acacia wood and neutral oak barrels to breathe.

Field Recordings Skins has a presence. There’s a lot going on here with jasmine, tangerine, eucalyptus on the nose and honey, apricot, cinnamon, white pepper on the palate. It’s complex yet not overwhelming and, as you may guess from the color and the aforementioned 45 days on the skins, you do feel the grip of the tannin, balanced by the intense aromatics and fruit. It pairs best with bold flavors and umami like porchetta, coconut cream sauces, miso glazed salmon…
