We love our Myrtle Avenue community. It’s filled with neighbors who take initiative and look out for each other. On October 11th, our local businesses and neighbors banded together to raise over $10,000 for the ICL Tillary Street Women’s Shelter.
Local Love, hosted by Jill Lindsey in partnership with the Myrtle Ave Brooklyn Partnership and One Community, brought the neighborhood together for a night of live music, treats, auctions, and mini sessions with Jill Lindsey’s wellness practitioners. The event had two goals: raise enough money for the ICL Tillary Street Women’s Shelter to pay for basic necessities like tampons, pads, and soap; and raise awareness of the shelter for future community support. It’s with pride that we say those goals were definitely met.
Every part of the event was made possible by contributions from Myrtle Ave’s local businesses and we’re proud to have donated an exclusive Weekender made of women-made wines.
What was in our exclusive Weekender? Make one for yourself!
Leyda Chardonnay ($15) Crisp, lemon meringue cream and fresh, rich minerals.
Benazzoli Bardolino ($15) Soft and delicate, balanced with sour cherries and pepper.
Dos Minas Malbec ($16) A mysterious Argentine lover: Dark ripe plums, roasted meat, a hint of smoke.
Inspired to contribute? Make a donation to ICL today to help their programs or keep your eyes peeled for the next Jill Lindsey event!
