Basa Lore has been producing Txakoli since 1930, now in the 4th generation with Jose, Begoña and daughter Nerea. Such was their love for the terroir that together with 5 other wineries they founded the D.O. Getariako (Getar-e-ahko) Txakolina, predominantly focusing their winemaking on Hondarrabi Zuri & Beltza, indigenous grapes first planted in the region in 1425, as well as traditional methods to yield an old-style Txakoli. Precious to the Basque, Basa Lore wines are non-intervention, no sulfite added and native yeast. The trio have ensured an authenticity to their Txakoli that is ingrained in the history of the Basque country.
