Marc Plouzeau Rosé

Post image

Marc Plouzeau’s father bought their land in 1976, replanted the vines and REBUILT THE CASTLE. Marc took over in 1999, moved to organic farming and now makes some of the Loire’s most beautiful wines. River gravel soil keeps the minerality buzzing here and his wines Just. Keep. Getting. Better. Pretty pink salmon in color, this 100% Cab Franc is organic with native yeasts and no added sulfur. On the nose it has lilac, cantaloup, lemon custard, strawberry, and cherry. A juicy palate follows with ripe strawberries, lemon zest, a hint of cream, clean mountain stream minerality, fresh acidity, and a watermelon finish. Lovely and ethereal, this wine has plenty to say, but it says subtly and seductively.
