Happy Derby Day! We hope you’re all decked out in huge hats with a julep in hand! No juleps? Not to worry, last weekend our friend Danielle from Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur visited the shop and perfected her Intense Ginger Mint Julep recipe. It was with unanimous decision (Tipsy staff and customers alike) that this cocktail was decreed our most favorite julep ever. Here’s the recipe, you better get shaking!
Intense Ginger Mint Julep
- 3-4 sprigs of mint
- 2 oz. bourbon (we recommend Four Roses Yellow Label ($23))
- 1 1/2 oz. Barrows Intense Ginger Liqueur ($21)
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
Muddle mint in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice and add remaining ingredients. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass with crushed ice. Garnish with sprig of mint, don your hat and white gloves, sip daintily.
