We reached out to Meg [Moorehouse] about the inspiration for her inclusive decanter sets:
“When we first made the Ours Decanter Set, 10+ years ago, it was intended to be mainly a wedding gift. It pre-dated the Marriage Equality Act in NY state. We did still offer same-gender options: His/His, and Hers/Hers. A few years ago, I added Theirs to include gender non-binary folx. It’s important to me to think about how our designs might be exclusionary and keep doing better.”
Love & Victory is a one-stop resource for thoughtfully-designed, quality goods that shine a spotlight on her favorite things: delicious food, stiff drinks, soulful tunes, and socially relevant causes. Meg has also used her skills for charitable causes, raising money for organizations like She Should Run, Planned Parenthood, National Network of Abortion Funds, and City Harvest through events and product sales. From Meg:
“We most recently did a Pour with Pride campaign with our friends at Crew Supply Co. for this year’s Pride Month. We are selling our Pour with Pride pins and donating 100% of the profits to the Ali Forney Center, an NYC org that helps keep LGBTQIA+ teens out of homelessness.“
“We also work with with liquor brands to design marketing campaigns and merch. We just designed and produced thousands of rainbow pins for Maker’s Mark as a giveaway. I think this is really different than performative rainbow-washing gestures for profit. They are giving these away to bartenders who will wear them on shift and help all of their patrons feel welcome at the bar.”
